 Itinerary

Sunday & Monday: Sossusvlei
Depart Windhoek early this morning travelling by light aircraft and heading southwards to Sossusvlei. Your base for the next 2 nights is Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp. Activities during your stay include early morning excursions in 4x4’s to see Sossusvlei’s magnificent dunes and the vlei itself. This time of the morning provides excellent photographic opportunities and for those with a bit more energy a climb to the top of the highest dunes, will afford you breathtaking views. Breakfast is served under the spreading camel thorn acacias before returning to the camp travelling via the Sesriem Canyon. Afternoons are spent exploring the surrounding desert with its unique flora and fauna and some game, including springbuck, oryx and ostrich.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Damaraland
Fly over the dunes of the Namib and Sossusvlei continuing westward to Meob Bay on the Atlantic coast, and up the Skeleton Coast. Your air transfer affords you an awesome aerial view of the amazing Skeleton Coast, with its desolate array of ship wreck remains. The landscape in this area ranges from sweeping vistas of wind swept dunes to rugged canyons with walls of richly coloured volcanic rock and extensive mountain ranges. Turning east we fly up the Huab River to Damaraland Camp, our base for the next 2 nights. Stop on the way at Walvis Bay for a boat trip. Cruise through the harbour to Bird Island, and then cut across the lagoon where inquisitive seals will swim up to the boats for something to eat. From there we head for Pelican Point where entertainment is provided by a large seal colony and dolphins swimming alongside the boats. Dolphins sighted are the heavyside and bottlenose. Arrive at Damaraland Camp later today, set on the north bank of the Huab River. Highlights of the stay at Damaraland Camp are nature excursions into the rocky desert in search of the rare and en-dangered desert elephant, springbuck, oryx, ostrich and rhino.

Thursday & Friday: Etosha
Fly by light aircraft from Damaraland Camp to Ongava. Ongava is set on the south western border of Etosha National Park. Etosha is Namibia’s premier wildlife park, boasting great concentrations of game, especially in the dry winter months. Ongava Tented Lodge is situated on the private 30 000 hectare Ongava Game Reserve and shares a common border with Etosha. The lodge offers the full Etosha experience while providing great accommodation and service, as well as the opportunity to take night drives and nature walks on the reserve, activities that are not allowed within Etosha. Activities during your stay include daily game drives into Etosha National Park, as well as evening game drives, bush walks and game viewing hides on the privately owned Ongava Game Reserve.

Saturday: Windhoek
Depart Ongava for your flight back to Windhoek.
